With the new date taking place on the 23rd to 26th of September, Taiwan's leading wine and spirits trade fair, in its 11th year, Wine and Gourmet Taipei has become firmly established in Taiwan. This year, the show will be extended from its previous 3 days to 4 days. WGT gathers global wines and spirits brands continuing the success of the past years and continually promoting international products to an ever keen and prosperous Taiwan market.
Meanwhile, the pre-show activities and special areas of WGT 2022 are also being actively planned and prepared. With the successful organization of the WGT Annual Wine Selection, more than 24 brands were able to wine awards highlighting them on the Taiwan Wine Stage. The organizers are delighted to see that the event continues to be the most international wine and spirits trade fair in Taiwan to date. Importers, distributors and dealers from all over Taiwan will gather at WGT 2022 to create a grand event and win wide acclaim from domestic and foreign exhibitors and visitors.
With the new date and with a boost in the confidence of buyers and sellers that we are over the pandemic, there has been a 12% more space increase compared to last year which is encouraging news. The trade fair already receives full support from various governments and industry organizations such as the Taipei Wine Association, Taiwan Sommelier Association and representatives from Argentina, Belgium, Germany, Malaysia, Philippines and South Africa.
With well-known establishments such as the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation showcasing the world famous made in Taiwan, Omar Whiskey and Nan lien International Corporation showcasing 19-Crimes from Australia, WGT 2022 is set to have the biggest companies related to the Wine industry in Taiwan present.
Educational wine seminars and promotional activities all throughout the year
WGT is always dedicated to wine education alongside promotion of the latest vintages. Before the exhibition, WGT plans to organize a number of pre-show activities. The trade show not only speaks for Taiwanese market, but also actively listens to what the industry has to say. WGT constantly makes improvement and creates a professional trade fair for the wines and spirits sector. A top-class event program will be held on all 4-days of the exhibition, consisting of specialized masterclasses and seminars by renowned industry experts, opinion leaders, trade organizations and associations, directly at exhibitors' stands or at the WGT seminar area. With special guest appearances from the German Wine Institute to discuss pairing German wine with Taiwanese delicacies, the show proves itself as being able to still garner international presence despite the current border controls. This year, representing Edrington Group, head distiller Gordon Motion has combined the best of both worlds: Glenrothes rich sherry cask whisky, and Edrington Group's whiskey, a new series of 100% sherry barrels has been specially created: "The Soleo Collection" will be introduced during the seminars. In addition, the 2020 and 2017 single barrel original whiskey will be specially offered as a special whiskey offering.
WGT 2022 will offer several special areas that include the Professional Buyers Area, Gourmet Area and the WGT Annual Selection Winners Product Showcase. The goal is to create an area whereby exhibitors will have the chance to meet a very specialized clientele to showcase special products. The Annual Selection Winner’s products will also be displayed on special display cabinets for maximum exposure during the show. WGT will allow exhibitors to target both the B2C and B2B consumers all across Taiwan. WGT 2022 will take place on 23 -26 September 2022 in Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 (TWTC).
